Imagine if you had not followed the strict program of study over the previous 18 weeks, you would probably be stressing around like a headless chicken by now trying to cram information into your head, but at this stage if you have not gone through a structured study program, it is way too late to start learning the material. Hopefully with the strategy provided you have been able to prioritize your time and familiarize yourself with all of the key curriculum lessons. No method of learning is foolproof, but on the margin you should be substantially better prepared than you would have been without a structured program.

The week to come:

Now in the last week we are going to read through the final examples in the Ethics reading and otherwise it is all about practicing mock exams. There are several sources from which you can acquire additional mock-exams if you are running short. Don’t just do the tests though, ensure that you are allowing time to revise the answers thoroughly, this last step of the process is obviously crucial for absorbing the new insights from the questions that you were struggling with, and is almost as important as actually answering the questions.

Depending on your other commitments, if you are able to clear the calendar for the last week before the test this is definitely worth considering. This way you can pretty much do a mock exam with exam like conditions every single day of the upcoming week. A slightly less intensive approach would be to do two mock exams on subsequent days and then use the third day to revise the answers for the two tests, before going through the same cycle again for the following 3 days. In other words if you do a mock exam Sunday and Monday, revise the answers Tuesday, then do two more mock exams Wednesday, Thursday and revise and regain energy Friday before the test Saturday. The latter is probably the most effective approach as (depending on your energy levels) you will otherwise risk total burnout before even sitting the test.

It is important that you do not do a lot of work the upcoming Friday, spend the bulk of the day doing things that relax you and ensure that you get a good and long sleep before hitting the test. The worst thing you can do is to stay up late Friday evening doing a last minute cramming session. You have spend 19 weeks acquiring all of the information that you need. So there is really no added value from a last minute session, it will only detract from your ability to perform Saturday, as your energy levels will be depleted.

Please do come back and tell us about your exam experience in the comments section below.

Good luck with the test!
